The Monka K75 Tri-Mode has rapidly established itself as a frontrunner in the budget mechanical keyboard market, delivering a suite of features traditionally reserved for much higher-priced custom boards. It combines a highly functional 75% layout with premium internal construction, making it an outstanding choice for gamers, typists, and keyboard enthusiasts seeking a high-end experience without the high-end cost. I got this keyboard from Blisstyle Electronics for around 5000BDT or $40-$50 range, and have been using this keyboard for the past 6 months. It’s the Wave Purple keycaps and Sea salt V2 tactile switches. Here is a long-term Monka k75 review of the personal experience I had with this keyboard.

Design and Build Quality (8/10)
The K75 utilizes the increasingly popular 75% layout, which includes a full Function row and dedicated navigation keys, but saves space by eliminating the 10-key numeric pad. This balance makes it highly functional for both work and gaming setups.
A standout physical feature is the CNC-machined metallic knob, offering tactile, smooth control for volume and backlighting. The keyboard shell is generally plastic, which is common in this price bracket, but the overall rigidity is enhanced by its robust internal structure. It also comes equipped with durable, dual-tone double-shot PBT keycaps that resist shine and wear better than standard ABS caps. It features a Gasket Mounting structure, which is a good one. Inside it also has five-layered internal padding featuring IXPE Undershaft pad, Poron Sandwich Cotton pad, silicone bottom pads, etc. for comfortable feedback.
The knob could be slightly firmer as it seems a little bit flimsy to me. The whole build shows a bit of flex when bending with hands, but that is common is this budget range with a plastic build.
Typing Experience and Acoustics (9.5/10)
This is where the Monka K75 truly shines, offering a “poppy”, “thocky” or “marbly” sound profile right out of the box, something usually achieved only through extensive modifications. Typing on the K75 feels like bliss to the fingertips and ears. I sometimes just shadow type on the keyboard just to hear the sound of those SEA SALT V2 switches. These switches are better than the V1s but some may argue that the V1s had more character to it. And that is also valid. But to me, I like the new ones better. Here are some Key Features:
- Gasket Mount: The core appeal is the gasket-mounted structure, often paired with a leaf-spring design. This mounting style provides a softer, more flexible, and cushioned typing feel compared to rigid tray-mount keyboards, significantly reducing finger fatigue.
- Five-Layer Dampening: Monka has addressed acoustics meticulously by including five layers of internal padding (including materials like Poron and silicone). These layers eliminate hollow sounds and pinging, contributing to a deep, satisfying acoustic profile.
- Switches: The K75 often ships with excellent proprietary switches like the Sea Salt V2 (tactile) or Ice Cream Pro Max. These are usually factory-lubed exceptionally well, providing a smooth, consistent experience from the first keystroke.
- Customization: The full-key hot-swappable sockets mean you can swap out the switches with almost any 3-pin or 5-pin MX-style switch without needing to solder, making future customization easy. The south-facing RGB LEDs ensure full compatibility with Cherry-profile keycaps, a crucial detail for modders. The Volume Knob can also be used to control the RGB effects of the keyboard.
Connectivity and Battery Life (9/10)
The “Tri-Mode” functionality provides excellent versatility for multi-device users:
- Wired: USB Type-C connection for zero latency gaming while also charging.
- Wireless: 2.4GHz dongle for low-latency wireless gaming.
- Bluetooth 5.0: Seamless connection for up to three separate devices (e.g., PC, laptop, tablet). I even connected it with a mobile phone and IT WORKS.
Powering this is a massive 5000mAh battery, which delivers outstanding wireless longevity that lasts up to 7 days with the RGB on, and significantly longer with lighting disabled.
Verdict
The Monka K75 is an absolute winner and one of the best pre-built, budget-friendly mechanical keyboards available today. It takes features from high-end custom keyboards—specifically gasket mounting, premium dampening, hot-swap, and PBT keycaps—and packages them at an accessible price.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Exceptional gasket-mounted typing feel | No software support from monka |
| Fantastic “thocky” sound profile out of the box | Case is generally plastic (not aluminum) |
| Tri-Mode connectivity (Wired, 2.4G, BT 5.0) | Stock stabilizers, while decent, may need tweaking |
| Huge 5000mAh battery for long wireless life | There is slightly more latency while on Bluetooth mode. |
